Tim Cousins - Toastmaster

as Tim Cousins "The Newcastle Toastmaster" joins us at Backworth Hall for the 2021/22 wedding seasons

Tim has a corporate and public service background in Customer Service, where he found his true vocation in caring for people. He is also trained and qualified as a Civil Celebrant. His dedication to his clients has seen him become one of the UK’s top toastmasters. He is immensely skilled at looking after people and putting them at ease. Tim is the only professionally trained, independent Toastmaster and Master of Ceremonies based in the North East of England.  He has assisted hundreds of couples to make their dream wedding a reality.

In 2019, Tim won the prestigious ‘Specialist Supplier at the English Wedding Awards’ for his work after being a nominee on three previous occasions.

Much of the work Tim undertakes, is for venues who engage him on an event by event basis. On your wedding day Tim would arrive before the arrival of the 1st guests and remain on Duty until the conclusion of the wedding breakfast. In some cases, He is asked to remain to start the first dance.

While on-duty, Tim is focused entirely on the wedding. This includes linking with the registrars, fixing buttonholes, guiding guests, working with photographers, ensuring the wedding breakfast and speeches run to time and all the other small details that help to contribute towards the big day. He is always smartly dressed in the full traditional Toastmasters livery of ‘Hunting Pinks’.

As well as Weddings Tim is entrusted by prestigious organizations to host formal Black-tie dinners and events each year. He is ready to help and provide you with all the support, advice, guidance and understanding to make sure your day goes off without a hitch.
